THE FESTIVE ORCHESTRA OF LONDON

Martin Feinstein

MARTIN FEINSTEIN flute/recorder/director

Martin Feinstein is one of the United Kingdom's leading interpreters of the masterpieces for flute. Following flute and recorder studies at the Royal College of Music, Martin won a German Government Scholarship to complete his training in Hamburg with the great German flautist Karlheinz Zoeller. While in Germany, Martin was able to develop his already keen interest in the study of Baroque performance on the modern flute. After working in Hamburg and Frankfurt with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra and Ensemble Modern, he returned to London, where he now directs the Festive Orchestra of London and the Feinstein Ensemble.

You can listen online to several tracks from the Feinstein Ensemble's CDs of J.S. Bach, C.P.E. Bach and Martinu

The Festive Orchestra of London

The Festive Orchestra of London was formed in 1990 to perform the masterpieces of the Baroque in and around London. The players are equally at home on modern and period instruments, giving them a unique insight into this wonderful repertoire. They have performed in most of London's major venues, toured in Europe and the Middle East and have broadcast for BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.
